Hear Ye Hear Ye
The next meeting of the BHS is Friday January 27, 2012. The guest speaker will be Marlboro Historian Nathan Handlin.
Nathan Handlin is the author of Marlboro Township - A Rich History-- a Bright Future published by the Marlboro Township Historic Commission.
Nathan attended New York University where he majored in history, economics and English. During WW II, he served five years in the U.S. Army. After the war, he resumed his studies at the NYU Graduate School of Business Administration securing an MBA and then continued his studies towards a PhD degree in Land Economics. He also earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Columbia University.
He has served as a Court appointed Mediator under the jurisdiction of the New Jersey Supreme Court, working in the local civil courts to help try to mediate disputes between litigants to avoid the need for court trials. He has served on the Citizens Advisory Committee of the Marlboro Township Board of Education and the Gerontology Advisory Council at the Rutgers University School of Social Work. He is actively involved in volunteer work and currently writes a monthly column for the periodical Our Town.
